All home matches will be pegged down with pegs
not less than 20 yards apart (where practical).
The draw for all matches will take place 1 hour prior to the stated
fishing time.
The match captain shall nominate one angler to draw peg numbers
for all competitors present at the draw.
Competitors not present at the draw will be allocated pegs at the
match captains discretion.
Matches will start and finish on a signal from the match captain.
No breaking of water prior to this signal except for positioning
rod rests and keepnets and making up of groundbait.
Wading is permitted providing that the competitor can touch the
near bank.
One rod and one hook to be used at one time (other tackle may be
made up but not baited), except bonafied carp matches where two
rods may be used.
Any unattended tackle that is baited wheather in the water or not
shall result in the angler being disqualified from the competition.
No competitor may have his catch weighed if there is litter on
the banks of his/her swim.
No competitor may weigh his/her own catch, but shall be able to
witness that the correct weight is recorded
The match captain will be assisted in the weighing-in by the angler
occupying the lowest peg number at the close of fishing.
All home matches are fished 'all in' with pike and eels counting,
but not trout or salmon.
The match captain may cancel a competition or bring it to a close
before the stated time on a majority vote of the competitors.
Any dispute, complaint or other issue not covered by these match
rules shall be judged at the time by the match captain and his decision
shall be final.
For competitions fished on other waters rule 14 will apply unless
size limits are applied in competitions on the other waters concerned,
when such limits will apply, as also will any other rules for that
water more onerous than the Society's rules.
In the event of match fixtures being cancelled through circumstances
beyond control, every effort is to be made to fit the matches in
on alternative dates or alternative venues as the case may be. The
alterations to be left to the Committee to decide and to be published
in the local press on the two consecutive weeks before the match
is due to be held if time allows.
No fishing on any waters for one hour before or after matches.
